Meet the founder

Kathleen "Kathy" Grace Brown is a native of Detroit, MI. As a former competitive figure skater, Kathy became involved in dance ministry to serve and assist; however, God had another plan and, in 2002, called her to minister in dance.

Kathy is a graduate of the Eagles International Training Institute (EITI) and is a licensed Minister of Dance & Mime. Kathy completed EITI-Dance Year 1 in 2013, Dance Year 2 (a one-year intense focus on choreography) in 2014 & she graduated from EITI School of Pageantry in 2015. In 2017, she graduated from EITI-School of Mime. In 2019, she graduated from EITI's School of Intercessory Prayer & Children, Youth, & Teens course.

On July 5, 2010, Kathy established Foot of the Cross Ministries. The ministry’s mission is to lift up the name of Jesus Christ, through the ministry of dance and is an outreach ministry to victims of violence. The ministry’s heart is to lead the unsaved to Christ, to minister to individuals who have been victims of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse as well as those who have been victims of domestic violence by using dance as communication to encourage, uplift, heal and to reassure them that God loves them and has a plan for their life. Her desire is to encourage others through her own experience as a domestic violence survivor. This ministry also has an online store; under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Kathy designs praise & worship instruments, garments for adults and children. She is the author of the Ebook "Basic Biblical Colors Guide".

In September 2014, Kathy established Liturgical Dance Academy. Her desire for this online resource is to network with other liturgical dancers and dance ministries for the purpose of equipping and educating dancers to continue to grow as effective ministers of God's message through dance. Kathy has a heart and desire to educate, train, and encourage other dance ministers, especially children and youth. Her desire is for this resource to be an online academy.

Kathy currently resides in Cypress, TX. She is a Special Education Teacher, teaching 8th grade Science. She is a former co-sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at the school where she teaches. In 2017, she established a dance ministry within FCA.

Kathy is an active member of Refuge Community Church under the leadership of Pastors Tony and Ayesha Ervin. She serves as the Minister of Dance, overseeing the dance and mime ministry, Steps of Faith. She also serves as a teacher in the Children & Youth Ministry.

Kathy enjoys sewing (personal and for ministry), shopping for fabric, taking dance classes (ballet, jazz, tap, modern), working with children, watching Star Trek and Columbo,  traveling (personal and for ministry), crafts, and spending time with her cat, Simba.
